Rage

what DOES it mean
A taste of WORDS
EMOTIONS
So contrite
A RAGING EMOTION that NEEDS
to be expressed
my head is THROBbing
as IDEAS I suppRESS
Who ARE YOU who stares at me
have you NEVER SEEN a MAD woman before
fore THAT is what they say
When I am feeling this way
TEAR my way through the illusions
the tattered sheets ADD to my delusions
How do I confess, to make sense of this mess
ALL is turmoil I brace myself for the stormy sea
Don't worry my dears
Suppress your fears
For a placid smile is all you see

Spoken word basic rules

Greetings all,

The spoken word is a medium if which I was introduced several years ago. I have written several pieces since that time. The all caps are to be shouted, while underlined words are a soft whisper. I prefer a soft guitar or a drum as the supporting instrument. Acoustic of course!

Raven

Arrogance

Highness they call thee
Of what I do not see
To be a part of that deadness
That rearrangement
Simplicity of madness
Choirs of angels beckon me
As I stand amongst the crowd
Who worship thee
Cacophony of brass jingles through the night
As a mirage, you take flight
Wrapped up within your shroud of illusion
Trapped up within your crowd of delusion
If your followers could only see
What a fool will be
Once you slip from your omniscient stance
A trip, stumble and fall
You will lose them all
I will offer my service
For one last dance

Mother

She is dying, softly crying
For no on can hear her
It is easier to turn a blind eye
Then to stop and ask why
When she tires of her weakened state
With words and emotions, she will reciprocate
Her listeners will burn and yearn
For her more gentle side to return
It is her fate to respond with hate
For she is dying, nothing left to lose
A pale sister glows up on the horizon
Once a power so divine
Revered by all
Man's obsession with the possession of her bones
A shine, a glitter a myriad of stones
Has caused irreparable damage
Internal destruction shows upon her face
Continual construction
Contributing to the destruction
An incurable cancer
There is no remission
As early people felt her imminent death
Offered up permission to burrow
Deep within her heart still beats

Time

Tick Tock Tick Tock
As the train passes me by
How are we to make a stand
What is the master plan
I thought I knew the answer
I had it all figured out
Tick Tock Tick Tock
Some while ago, I was distracted
My mirror image was refracted
As I broke the glass with a word
All the answers I believed
were proven absurd
Vision of past, good and charming
Flash through my brain
As I sit up on this platform
Awaiting my train
Tick Tock Tick Tock
My world is passing
Blowing its whistle
As I stand still

Season's Greeting

Lights they are flashing
In a window of white
A cool air is flowing
In the cold winter night
Desire to consume all that we see
To place them under the tree
Wrapped in paper, red ribbons
Crackle of a fire, gives a ruddy glow
Up on the wall, hung in a row
Brightly glittered stockings reflecting the snow
The odors of dinner, wine and good cheer
Lingers as it has every year
All are asleep, as far as we know
For we are peering inward from the snow
Rubbing my fingers together for warmth
The tips of my gloves had worn down
Through the years
I tap my brother
It is time to go
Of a bright Christmas we dream
As we seek shelter from the cold
